Today, June 4, 2016 was our Her Legacy: Women of Fort Collins HIgh Tea Recognition Brunch. What a beautiful event it was--as was shared by guests, who attended and were apart of history today, or HerStory, today celebrating women past and present who have helped shape the city and community we live in. We are blessed by their selfless acts following their passion in years past and today, not realizing the legacy they were creating. Thank you to you, our notable women who will be forever remembered as a part of our art-in-public places exhibit in Old Town Fort Collins. The 1st 24 women recognized today were: Ann Azari, Becky Hammon, Betty Aragon-Mitotes, Brownie McGraw, Blanche Hughes, Ph.D., Denise Burson Freestone, Denny Moyer, Diana Wall, Ph.D., Elizabeth "Auntie" Stone, Gladys S. Eddy, Guadalupe Salazar, Ph.D., Hattie McDaniel, Jerri Schmitz, Joan King, Ph.D. Jovita Lobato, Kim Jordan, Lydia Dody, Martha Trimble, Nancy Gray, Sister Mary Alice Murphy, Sue Ferguson, Susan Kirkpatrick, Temple Grandin, and Theodosia Ammons. We send a huge thank you to our guest speaker: Karen McWilliams, Preservation Planner of the Fort Collins Historic Preservation Society for joining us today. Please visit our website to read about their legacies. Stop back often as we add additional info about each notable woman to this website: www.HerLegacyZontaFC.com. And if you would like to support our project to help us turn this dream into a reality for our community visit: www.HerLegacyFCDonate.org. The morning was an absolute beautiful morning for this event. We send each Notable Woman or Family Member and/or Guest who attended a heartfelt thank you for joining us this morning. I leave you with this quote by Kalil Gibran "I slept, and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke, and I saw that life is all service. I served, and I saw that service is joy."
